Rooted in the land. Guided by local knowledge.

Practical farming support and firsthand research help us understand the priorities of farmers, garden groups and cooperatives.

Agriculture

From connection to action.

Gambia Garden supports village households with access to tools, plants and farming materials. Our community-shared photographs and films document the land, livestock and everyday work behind local food production.

Our Vegetable Value Chain Baseline Survey gathers information from smallholder farmers, women’s garden groups and cooperatives growing onions, tomatoes, peppers and other vegetables. It examines income, markets, farming practices and household food and nutrition to guide support and measure change over time.

Agriculture and everyday life

Growing food.
Sharing their stories.

In Pakalindin and the communities we work with, agriculture is woven into everyday life. Gambia Garden helps farmers and village households access tools, plants and farming materials, and uses donations to support the purchase of farm animals and chicken-farming activities.

This practical support helps people grow food for themselves. Alongside it, we help villagers use media and the internet to tell their own stories about the land, mangoes, goats and the work that sustains their communities.

The land,
through local eyes.
